Khon Kaen University Library has reaffirmed its role as a learning institution and academic leader, as Ms. Siriporn Tiwasingh, a Senior Professional Librarian, was invited to share her expertise at Thammasat University. Ms. Tiwasingh delivered a workshop on evaluating reference documents for support staff experts at Thammasat University’s Rangsit Campus, demonstrating the library’s commitment to concrete knowledge sharing within the community.
On September 25-26, 2025, the Human Resources Division of Thammasat University hosted Ms. Siriporn Tiwasingh from Khon Kaen University Library as a guest lecturer. She spoke on the topic “Consideration of Reference Documents for Experts in Academic Work Evaluation” to over 54 participants at the Dome Administration Building, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.
This training was part of the “Project for Becoming an Expert in Evaluating Work for Higher Position Promotion,” which aims to elevate the standards and quality of academic support personnel at Thammasat University who are tasked with evaluating academic work.
Ms. Tiwasingh conveyed invaluable knowledge and experience, covering key issues such as correct referencing principles and styles, referencing AI-generated content, ethical data usage, and the connection between referencing and the quality assessment of academic work. She also addressed the negative consequences of incorrect or incomplete referencing. Her lecture significantly enhanced participants’ in-depth understanding and essential skills for effective academic work evaluation.
In addition to the detailed session on referencing, the project also featured esteemed speakers from various institutions who provided insights into relevant laws, regulations, and announcements concerning career advancement, the creation of operational manuals, research and analytical work, as well as the essential qualifications and ethics of an expert evaluator.
This event not only highlights the professionalism and expertise of Khon Kaen University Library personnel but also reflects its mission to support academic strength and personnel development for external organizations. This is a crucial part of driving the creation of “Wisdom for Society,” aligning with Khon Kaen University’s vision.
