KKU Library Welcomes 17 Interns with Comprehensive Orientation Program

The Khon Kaen University Library held a comprehensive orientation for 17 new interns on December 1, 2025, preparing them for their professional experience at what the library positions as a “Learning Center for All.”

The morning event, held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, welcomed students from four different universities. The group includes seven students from Udon Thani Rajabhat University and Mahasarakham University studying Information Science and Library Science, three history majors from Mahasarakham University, and three information science students from Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University. Three students from Khon Kaen University, majoring in Information Statistics and Data Science and English, are also part of the cohort.

The orientation was designed to prepare the students for their practical training and to familiarize them with the roles and missions of the library’s various departments.

Ms. Suttilak Padpeng, Deputy Director for Administration and Human Resources, officially welcomed the students and their mentors. The program began with an introductory video about the library, followed by a series of special lectures from senior staff.

Mrs. Yupaporn Thongnoi, Assistant Director for Strategy and Information Resource Management, spoke on the topic “Managing the Library as a Learning Center for All.” Ms. Nitiya Srivoradetpaisal, Assistant Director for Corporate Administration and Community Relations, presented on “Techniques for Writing Projects or Routine Tasks for Interns.” Finally, Ms. Nattorn Leawprasert, Head of the Librarian School Unit, provided guidance on work procedures for the interns and their mentors.

Following the lectures, the heads of various departments presented the roles and missions of their respective units. The speakers included the heads of Administration, Strategic Planning and Information Technology, Information Resource Management, and Library Services.

The orientation concluded with a relationship-building activity led by Ms. Prapaphorn Monthathip, aimed at fostering a warm and supportive learning environment between the interns and their mentors.
