On August 18, 2025, Khon Kaen University’s Human Resources Division organized the “Staff Advancement Promotion Project for Fiscal Year 2025” at the Bayasita Hotel on the university campus. The initiative aimed to foster career progression for 150 support staff members.
Ms. Siriporn Tiwasong, a Special Librarian, served as a key speaker, delivering a session on “Ethical Citation in Academic Work for Support Staff.” Her presentation emphasized the critical importance of information literacy for producing academic work. She covered various types of academic output and their connection to proper citation, reliable data sources, and effective research tools. The training also included guidance on content creation, citation practices, plagiarism detection using Turnitin software, and the ethical use of Generative AI as an assistant in academic writing.
Furthermore, Ms. Tiwasong introduced the library’s free support services available to all support staff. These include Research Support, AI Clinic, and regular monthly training courses covering bibliography management software like Zotero, Turnitin usage, information retrieval techniques, and the application of AI in academic work.
