
Khon Kaen University Library, in collaboration with the Innovation and Learning Center, the Digital Technology Office, and KKU Academy, organized a practical training program titled “Fire Prevention and Suppression 2025.” The event, held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Dok Koon Meeting Room within the University Library, aimed to enhance safety within the participating organizations.
Ms. Suttilak Padpeng, Deputy Director for Administration and Human Resources, presided over the opening ceremony, while Mr. Donbawornpat Meekunchorn, Assistant Director for Digital Technology and Safety, reported on the program’s objectives.

The morning session commenced with a special lecture by Associate Professor Dr. Choopong Thongkamsamut, Vice President for Physical and Environmental Affairs, who spoke on “Guidelines for Public Disaster Risk Management in High-Rise Buildings and Business Continuity.” This was followed by Mr. Watchara Pattanaweewatporn, Director of the Building and Facilities Division, presenting on “Building Safety Standards and Environmental Management (SH&E).” Mr. Morakot Subin, Director of the Prevention and Security Division, then discussed “Principles of Prevention to Reduce Public Disaster Risks (Risk Reduction).” The morning concluded with practical training in basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), conducted by expert instructors from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) unit of Srinagarind Hospital.









In the afternoon, Mr. Wiboonsilp Pinijmontree led a lecture and tabletop exercise on “Incident Command in Cases of Severe Public Disasters in High-Rise Buildings.” The program concluded with intensive practical training focusing on fundamental fire prevention and suppression skills, including the correct and safe use of various types of fire extinguishers.
This collaborative initiative underscores the commitment of all four participating units to creating a safe environment and equipping their personnel to effectively respond to emergencies, ensuring the utmost safety for all users and staff.
