The Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library is expanding its academic services by introducing artificial intelligence (AI) and modern digital tools to support botanical research in schools. This initiative aims to enhance botanical studies by equipping participants with contemporary research methods.
On January 19, 2026, a team of expert librarians from the university library conducted a specialized training session titled “Using AI and Digital Tools for Report Preparation and Plant Studies.” The event was organized by KKU’s Royal Initiative Projects Coordination Center and held at the Sirikunakorn Building. Associate Professor Dr. Chuthaporn Sawaengkaew, the center’s Deputy Director, presided over the opening ceremony, emphasizing the goal of modernizing the school botanical garden program with current technology.
During the afternoon workshop, the library team demonstrated their academic support capabilities. Librarians Yosayada Sitthiwong, a Senior Professional Librarian, and Nattaorn Leawprasert served as expert instructors. They led a hands-on training session focused on using AI and digital tools for information retrieval, reference management, and bibliography creation with the Zotero program.
The workshop provided an interactive platform for attendees to ask questions and practice using these digital tools. The goal was to enable them to apply these modern techniques effectively in their own botanical reports and plant studies, ensuring their work is efficient, up-to-date, and practical.
This activity highlights the library’s evolving role as a key academic partner in developing the scholarly community’s skills and promoting high-quality research in botany, contributing to the tangible success of the Royal Initiative project.
