On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Khon Kaen University Library (KKUL) received two accolades at the “ThaiLIS Award” ceremony for the 2025 fiscal year. The awards were presented during the 37th Seminar on Cooperation between University Libraries, held at Wachirabopit Auditorium, Nakhon Phanom University, Nakhon Phanom Province.
Khon Kaen University Library was recognized in two categories:
- Third place for the highest number of interlibrary loan (ILL) requests made through the UCTAL system among higher education institutions.
- Third place for the highest number of interlibrary loans (ILL) provided through the UCTAL system among higher education institutions.
Mr. Wanchat Phoomee, Assistant Director for Academic, Physical, and Safety Affairs, and Ms. Yupaporn Thongnoi, Head of Resource and Information Management, represented the library’s administration in accepting the awards.
The ThaiLIS Awards program is designed to encourage higher education institutions participating in the ThaiLIS project to maximize the utilization of its systems and resources. The core aim is to foster resource sharing and cultivate a learning society, thereby enhancing the quality of education, reducing costs, and improving the efficiency of library services.
This initiative strengthens the network of libraries across Thailand and inspires continuous participation from personnel and students in the development of the ThaiLIS system. Its specific objectives include:
Ensuring that operations and data entry into the database adhere to international standards.
Promoting the most efficient use of various services offered by the Thai Library Integrated System (ThaiLIS) development project.
Publicizing the diverse services provided by the ThaiLIS project.
Building a robust collaborative network among university libraries.
Creating a sustainable society for resource sharing among higher education institution libraries.
Supporting efficient interlibrary lending and borrowing of resources among university libraries.
Serving as a mechanism to align the operations of higher education institutions with the policies of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
