Khon Kaen University Library Hosts Philippine Librarian for Professional Exchange

KHON KAEN – The Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library welcomed a medical librarian from the Philippines for a professional visit focused on information resource management, service innovations, and the design of modern learning spaces.

On April 1, Mr. Natha Lorenzo D. Lagamayo, a librarian from the Nicanor Reyes Jr. Medical Library in the Philippines, visited the KKU Library. He was officially received by Mr. Wanchat Phumee, the library’s Deputy Director for Services, Physical Environment, and Innovation.

The visit, which took place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., aimed to foster academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions. It served as a professional exchange to share best practices in library operations and services.

During the tour, Ms. Yaowaporn Santiwiwat, Head of the Services Division, and Mr. Siwanat Srisunthorn, a senior librarian, guided Mr. Lagamayo through the library’s various service areas and innovative facilities. They highlighted how these spaces are designed to support the educational and research missions of Khon Kaen University.

The visit also explored potential future collaborations on joint academic and cultural activities for students. The university is considered a key international partner for Mr. Lagamayo’s home institution in cultural and academic exchanges. This visit is seen as a way to strengthen the relationship and enhance the development of library services to effectively meet the needs of users in the digital age.

It aims to provide equitable access to knowledge, support innovation and research excellence, and serve as a hub for lifelong learning.
