KKU Library Partners with Ministry and Book Promotion for E-Database Training

KHON KAEN – Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library, in collaboration with the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and Book Promotion & Service Co., Ltd., has launched a training program on the use of electronic databases for librarians.

The program, held on March 2, 4, and 5-6, 2025, at the KKU Library’s computer training room, aims to enhance the skills of library staff from KKU and the Provincial University Library Network (PULINET). The objective is to develop their expertise in efficiently searching and managing electronic databases, enabling them to better support faculty, researchers, and students.

Mr. Wanchat Phumee, Deputy Director for Services, Physical Environment, and Innovation at the KKU Library, presided over the opening ceremony. In his address, he emphasized the critical importance of continuous learning and adapting to rapidly changing information technology, which is central to modern library services.

The training sessions were led by Mr. Jirawat Promporn, Head of the e-Resource Support Department at Book Promotion & Service Co., Ltd. Participants included staff from the KKU Library and member institutions of PULINET from the northeastern region.

This collaborative initiative serves to strengthen professional networks and collectively advance the standard of information services provided by university libraries across the region.
