The Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library hosted a delegation of faculty and students from Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University (SNRU) on February 12, 2026, for a study tour focused on modern library management and digital innovation.
The group of 10, comprising instructors and students from the Information Science program at SNRU’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, was warmly welcomed by Ms. Sutthilak Phadpheng, the KKU Library’s Deputy Director for Administration and Human Resources. The visit was organized to provide the students with professional experience and insights into the operations of a leading digital library.
The program featured in-depth presentations from KKU Library specialists on key technologies and innovations. The topics, selected based on the delegation’s interests, included:
- Digital Repository (KKUIR): Presented by library executives Yupaporn Thongnoi and Donbovornpat Meekunchorn, who oversee strategy, resource management, and digital technology.
- Information Resource and Archive Development: Led by Ms. Prapaphorn Monthathip, Head of Resource and Information Management.
- Automated Library System: Explained by Ms. Yaowaporn Santiwiwat, Head of Services.
- Metaverse Experience & KKU Maker Space: A session on virtual reality technology and creative innovation spaces, conducted by Mr. Theerayut Balchon and Mr. Pongsathon Sillapaurai.
Following the presentations, the SNRU group toured the library’s service areas and operational workspaces, engaging in a close exchange of knowledge with the KKU team. The tour aimed to provide a practical understanding of the skills required for the information science profession today.
The KKU Library expressed its pleasure in offering this direct learning experience to inspire future information science professionals, who will be vital to the development of libraries in Thailand. The institution affirmed its commitment to academic collaboration with other universities to foster a sustainable learning society.
