Khon Kaen University Library Welcomes Delegation from The World Top-10 University

Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library recently hosted a delegation of faculty and students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), showcasing its innovative services, learning environments, and role in fostering international academic collaboration.

On January 9, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Supat Sinawat, Director of the KKU Library, welcomed Associate Professor Dr. James Kah and a group of 15 students from the College of Design and Engineering at NUS. National University of Singapore is ranked number one in Asia and among the top 10 universities globally.

The visit was part of a student exchange program coordinated by KKU’s Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences. The NUS delegation was in Thailand to study the challenges of elderly care within the Thai context for their course, “BN4102 Gerontechnology in Ageing.” Their tour of the KKU Library provided an opportunity to observe a space designed to promote lifelong learning for users of all ages, featuring facilities like meeting spaces, a Makerspace, and a performative space.

During the visit, Dr. Supat led the tour, highlighting unique service innovations developed at the library, such as the “AI Clinic” and the “KKU Research Hub.” He also delivered a special presentation titled “Library Transformation: KKU Experience,” outlining the library’s vision to evolve into a “Learning Center for All.” The presentation covered the library’s operational overview, service innovations, and the design of physical spaces that encourage creativity.

The NUS delegation praised the library’s transformation concept, which is driven by service innovations that support digital literacy. They also commended its focus on developing partnerships with the community, society, and volunteer networks to support a sustainable learning society.

This visit from the prestigious National University of Singapore underscores the KKU Library’s standing as a model for modern learning centers, ready to share its knowledge and experience with the international academic community.
