Khon Kaen University Library Launches Wellness Program for Staff

“KKU The Khon Kaen University Library has initiated a new program aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life for its staff, titled “KKU Library: Recharging Hearts & Bodies.” The project is designed to enhance both physical and mental health, foster a positive attitude, and cultivate a happy and unified work environment.

The full-day event took place on Thursday, December 25, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Dok Koon Conference Room in the library’s main building. The program, which saw enthusiastic participation from library personnel, was organized under the theme “Healthy Body, Happy Mind: Moving Forward for a Sustainable Organization.”

The day consisted of two distinct workshops addressing holistic well-being:

The morning session, “Mind Resilience: A Strong Heart to Embrace Change,” focused on building mental fortitude. Participants learned techniques for creative adaptation to workplace challenges and stress management strategies to achieve a balanced life. The workshop was led by Assistant Professor Kwansuda Boontos from the Faculty of Nursing.

The afternoon session, “Library Fit & Firm: Conquering Office Syndrome,” provided practical knowledge and training on simple exercises for office workers. The goal was to prevent and alleviate the symptoms of office syndrome, promoting physical health and ensuring staff are ready to perform their duties effectively. This part of the program was conducted by physical therapist Chalermwut Srionla.

Beyond providing valuable knowledge, the project also served as an opportunity for staff to interact and strengthen relationships with their colleagues.

The “KKU Library: Recharging Hearts & Bodies” initiative underscores the library’s vision that its personnel are its most valuable resource. By investing in the physical and mental well-being of its staff, the library aims to build a strong foundation for organizational excellence and the sustainable achievement of the university’s mission.
