The Khon Kaen University Library hosted a delegation of administrators and students from the Faculty of Economics and Tourism at Souphanouvong University, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The visit was aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and building a network for academic cooperation between the two institutions.
On November 27, 2025, the 13-member group, led by Dr. Thipphavanh Duangvilaykeo, Head of the Business Management Department, was warmly received by Mr. Wanchat Phumee, the library’s Deputy Director for Services, Physical Plant, and Innovation, and Mrs. Tassanee Inlam, Director of the Administrative Division. The delegation’s visit to Khon Kaen University was part of broader discussions on academic collaboration, student exchanges, joint research, and curriculum development, with the library tour being a key component of their campus visit.
Ms. Prapaporn Monthatip, Head of Information and Resource Management, led a tour of the library’s various service areas, including the Co-Working Space and other service innovations, showcasing how technology is used to support teaching and learning and reflecting the library’s role as a modern learning hub.
A special highlight for the visitors was the “Metaverse Experience,” presented by Mr. Pitipong Pimpa, Head of Strategic Planning and Information Technology. This demonstration of the library’s latest virtual reality service was met with great excitement, offering the delegation new perspectives on digital learning.
The visit was designed to provide the delegation with insights into the management and service delivery of a leading university library, offering experiences and ideas that can be applied to the development of their own library services.
