Khon Kaen University Library Welcomes Students to “Library of the Future”

KHON KAEN – The Khon Kaen University Library hosted a group of 36 elementary school students and their teachers from Sakonnakorn Bilingual School on October 9, 2028, offering them an immersive experience with advanced learning technologies.

The visit, designed to broaden the students’ perspectives and inspire an interest in technological innovation, was for pupils in grades 4 through 6.

Wanchat Phumee, Deputy Director for Services, Physical Environment, and Innovation, and Thassanee Inlam, Director of the Administration Division, led the library’s management team in welcoming the group. The tour highlighted the library’s diverse and technologically advanced services.

Librarians Yossayada Sittiwong and Kunnasorn Uantrai guided the students through the main service areas and information resource collections.

A key highlight for the students was the library’s future technology zone. They participated in a “Metaverse Experience,” using VR headsets to explore virtual worlds under the guidance of IT officers Wichayut Srila and Theerayut Balachon. The students also engaged with the “Maker Space,” a hands-on area for creative innovation, with instruction from audiovisual academic Pongsathorn Silpaurai.

The visit underscores the Khon Kaen University Library’s role as a modern learning institution that integrates new technologies to foster innovation skills and interest among young people, contributing to the foundation of a future learning society.
