Khon Kaen University Library Opens Doors to Support Regional National Science Week 2025 Activities

Khon Kaen University Library recently hosted a series of engaging activities as part of the Regional National Science Week 2025, held from August 18 to 20, 2025. Under the theme “Science in Action! For Sustainable Communities,” the library transformed into an interactive learning hub for science, technology, and environmental awareness.

The library’s Welcome and Tour Committee designed experiences that blended current knowledge with future technologies, while also fostering a sense of sustainability. Key activities included:

  • Library Tour: Participants were guided through the library’s modern learning spaces, introduced to its information resources, various services, and innovations supporting digital-era learning and research.
  • Waste Management for Sustainable Communities: A practical workshop provided insights into proper waste segregation, the importance of recycling, and strategies for waste reduction (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to promote a sustainable society.
  • Metaverse Experience: An immersive learning experience allowed attendees to wear VR headsets and explore a virtual world (Metaverse), engaging with scientific content in a realistic 3D format.

The event attracted over 933 students, teachers, and faculty members. Participants provided feedback and expressed their expectations for future library services, including photo booths, comic book sections, well-lit makeup rooms, LGBTQ+ friendly restrooms, free Wi-Fi for external users, cover dance activities, psychological counseling rooms for students during exam periods, and more waste disposal points.

The successful organization of these activities aligns with the Khon Kaen University Library’s mission to serve as a “Learning Center for All” and to support lifelong learning.
