The Khon Kaen University Library joined other university departments in the 5th “KKU Societal Contribution” fair, an annual event aimed at providing free services to the public. The event was held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Khon Kaen Railway Station.
Associate Professor Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony. The fair’s objective is to leverage the knowledge and expertise of KKU faculty, staff, and students to benefit the local community. All services were offered free of charge.
The event featured services organized into four main categories:
Health services
Knowledge and educational services
Career promotion services and pet care
Support and activity-sponsoring units
Representing the university’s “Learning Center for All,” the Office of the Library, led by Mrs. Yupaporn Thongnoi, Assistant Director for Strategy and Information Resource Management, hosted a booth in the knowledge and education section. The library offered a variety of engaging activities for all age groups, which attracted a large number of visitors.
Highlights from the library’s booth included:
A Metaverse experience for education and inspiration.
A “Book Exchange” program to promote a culture of reading and sharing in Khon Kaen.
Hands-on learning activities such as painting, DIY notebook making, and coding with Micro:bit.
A virtual exhibition accessible to attendees.
The library’s interactive offerings proved to be highly popular with the public throughout the day.
