On May 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, the Committee for Library Internship Management at Khon Kaen University Library organized a project presentation session at the Librarian Practicum Room. Led by Mrs. Yupaporn Thongnoi, Associate Director for Strategy Driving and Information Resources Management, the event showcased the “Smart Gate Control: Khon Kaen University Library Access System” project. Developed by four innovative interns from two institutions under the supervision of Mr. Panuwat Uthaiban, Senior Information Officer, the presentation received constructive feedback from the committee for further operational development.
The “Smart Gate Control” project is a collaborative achievement of four visionary students: Mr. Rattikorn Ontalai, Mr. Chatchawin Tonngam, and Mr. Jirawat Tonahongsa from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (Khon Kaen Campus), alongside Mr. Rungtham Lomnaimuang from the Department of Computer Science, College of Computing, Khon Kaen University.
This innovative system integrates advanced hardware and programming technologies to optimize, secure, and modernize the library’s entry and exit controls. The project aligns perfectly with KKU Library’s core values of delivering a modern service and maintaining a safe, healthy ecosystem. Once implemented, this digital solution will significantly enhance facility management and improve user experiences for thousands of daily visitors.
During the session, the committee expressed high commendation for the students’ capabilities in transforming theoretical knowledge into a practical, real-world application. Moving forward, the feedback received will be utilized to refine and expand the system’s capabilities. This initiative underscores KKU Library’s dedication to its vision as a “Learning Center for All,” serving not only as an academic hub but also as a premier nurturing ground for professional skills and technological development.
