The Office of the Library at Khon Kaen University held an event on April 8 to celebrate the upcoming Songkran festival, preserving the traditions of the Thai New Year.
The ceremony, which began at 1:00 PM in the Dok Koon Meeting Room, was presided over by the library’s director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supat Sinawat, and attended by the library’s executive team and staff.
Participants took part in a ceremonial bathing of a Buddha image for blessings, followed by a traditional water-pouring ritual to show respect and ask for blessings from senior staff and administrators. The event was organized to honor Thai customs for the 2024 Songkran festival and was filled with a warm, joyful, and friendly atmosphere.

On the same day, the library also participated in a larger university-wide merit-making event held at Si Than Lake. Led by Ms. Suttilak Padpeng, the Deputy Director for Administration and Human Resources, library representatives set up a charity food stall for event attendees. The stall was funded by contributions from the library’s executives and staff.
