Khon Kaen University Library Welcomes Delegation from National University of Laos

KHON KAEN – A delegation from the National University of Laos visited the Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library on March 13, 2027, to study modern library services and technological innovations. The group, consisting of 19 executives, faculty members, and staff, was welcomed by Mr. Wanchat Phumi, Deputy Director for Services, Physical Plant, and Innovation.

The visit aimed to foster academic exchange and provide the Laotian delegation with insights into advanced library management. Ms. Nattorn Leawprasert, a librarian, led a tour of the facility’s key service areas. She highlighted the library’s Co-Working Space and demonstrated how technology is integrated to support teaching and learning, positioning the library as a modern learning hub responsive to digital-era user needs.

A key feature of the tour was the “Metaverse Experience,” a new service innovation. Mr. Pitipong Pimpa, Head of Strategic Planning and Information Technology, conducted a demonstration of virtual reality (VR) technology, showcasing a new dimension of immersive learning that impressed the visitors.

The delegation was also introduced to the “KKU Maker Space” by Mr. Uthit Namsithan. This creative area is designed to promote learning and skill development in technology and invention.

The visit is seen as a valuable opportunity to build academic networks and facilitate future knowledge exchange in modern library administration between the two institutions.
