The Khon Kaen University (KKU) Library has partnered with the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies to enhance the capabilities of modern researchers, hosting a workshop focused on leveraging Generative AI to elevate research to international standards.
The event, titled “Promoting the Use of Generative AI for Research,” was held on June 16, 2025. It aimed to provide faculty and researchers with advanced skills in applying cutting-edge AI technologies. The collaboration underscores the library’s role as an intellectual powerhouse and a hub for learning innovation within the university.
Leading the workshop was Associate Professor Dr. Kanda Saikaew, the library’s Deputy Director for Digital Technology and Innovation, with assistance from Senior Professional Librarian Ms. Yotsayada Sittiwong. They provided training on the practical application of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, as well as the university’s own innovative platform, KKU IntelliSphere.
The session covered the entire research lifecycle, from identifying compelling research topics and conducting rapid literature reviews to designing research instruments, performing in-depth data analysis, and developing strategies for publication in international journals. Dr. Kanda also placed significant emphasis on the ethical use of AI, ensuring researchers can utilize these powerful tools responsibly.
In her opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Wanlapa Wongsintam, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, expressed her gratitude to the library for providing the essential expertise and personnel that were key to the project’s success.
This partnership highlights the KKU Library’s evolving vision, positioning itself not merely as a provider of information resources but as a “Strategic Partner” dedicated to collaborating with all faculties. The initiative aims to strengthen the university’s research and innovation capacity, ensuring it remains competitive in the digital era.
