KKU Library Empowers High School Educators, Deploying AI Experts to Lead Generative AI Workshop at KKUIC Teacher Network Event

Khon Kaen University Library has reinforced its commitment to lifelong learning and educational innovation by dispatching three of its prominent IT and information specialists to serve as keynote speakers and workshop facilitators at Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC). The specialized workshop, titled “Using Generative AI (Gemini & NotebookLM) for Student Development in the AI Era (English for Professional AI Prompts for Educators),” took place on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 13:00 to 16:30 at the Social Space, Joint Learning and Basic Skills Development Building, KKUIC. The initiative aimed to equip high school guidance and subject teachers with advanced tools to enhance teaching efficiency and student mentorship.

The workshop was a core component of the “KKUIC Teacher Network Empowerment for International Higher Education Pathways” project, initiated by KKUIC under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Sirimonporn Thipsingh, Dean of KKUIC, to foster academic collaboration and strengthen international higher education pathways. Recognizing the technical expertise of the KKU Library staff, KKUIC invited Mr. Theerayut Banchon (Senior Information Officer / Main Speaker), Dr. Prasit Prathumrat (Senior Information Officer / Assistant Speaker), and Mr. Wichayut Srila (Information Technology Officer / Assistant Speaker) to deliver this bilingual session (Thai and English).

The afternoon session, designed and led by the KKU Library team, featured a dynamic, hands-on mini-workshop allowing educators to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into classroom management and career counseling. Key topics covered included:

  • Professional Prompt Engineering principles tailored for educational purposes.
  • Generative AI Techniques for designing and constructing highly efficient lesson plans.
  • AI-Driven Active Learning to design engaging and participatory English language activities.
  • Creating custom “AI Personal Assistants” using Gems (Gemini) to automate specific academic tasks.
  • Utilizing AI for Media Creation and educational counseling to better guide students toward their future academic paths.

This knowledge-sharing endeavor not only empowers secondary education networks to adapt to the fast-evolving AI landscape but also maximizes student learning outcomes. Furthermore, it highlights the continuous efforts of the Khon Kaen University Library in positioning itself as an intellectual hub dedicated to social devotion and advancing the standards of global education.
