สำนักหอสมุด มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (KKUL) จัดกิจกรรม “Big Cleaning Day” ประจำปี 2569 ในวันที่ 15 พฤษภาคม 2569 ระหว่างเวลา 09:00-16:00 น. เพื่อเตรียมThe Khon Kaen University Library (KKUL) held its annual “Big Cleaning Day” on May 15, 2026, bringing together library staff to improve and reorganize service and office spaces. The event, which ran from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., aimed to align the library with Green Office and Green Library standards, fostering a safe and healthy learning ecosystem in support of the university’s broader green policy.
The day began with an address from Yupaporn Thongnoi, the Assistant Director for Strategy and Information Resource Management. She emphasized the library’s energy-saving and environmental management policies, stating that the activity was not just about cleaning but about creating an environmentally friendly learning environment, which is a core principle of a Green Library.
The initiative focused on two main areas:
- Green Library (Service Areas): Staff organized into groups to manage reading areas, meeting rooms, and the Maker Space. The focus was on arranging information resources for easier access, reducing dust accumulation, and optimizing building lighting to create a bright and safe atmosphere for students and faculty.
- Green Office (Workspaces): In the afternoon, staff applied the “5S” methodology and green office criteria to their workspaces. This included proper waste separation, reducing plastic use, and maximizing the efficiency of office resources to promote workplace well-being as a foundation for delivering excellent service.
The library noted that the event also promoted its organizational value of “Social Devotion” by encouraging staff to maintain public spaces to high standards of quality and hygiene, thereby reducing long-term environmental impact.
