Khon Kaen University Library Celebrates 47 Years with Focus on Staff and Community

The Khon Kaen University Library recently marked its 47th anniversary with a series of events designed to foster a positive organizational culture and promote public service. The celebration was part of the library’s “Best Place to Work” strategic initiative, aiming to strengthen internal bonds and position the institution as a leading learning center for the future.

The day’s activities began with a traditional ceremony for good fortune, followed by a special lecture titled “KKUL Now and Beyond.” Delivered by the Deputy Director for Administration and Human Resources, the talk focused on preparing personnel for future challenges and developments.

A key highlight of the event was the “SMART IDOL” awards ceremony, which honored exemplary staff members who embody the library’s core values. The awards correspond to the “SMART” acronym:

S (Social Devotion with Creation): Nitiya Srivoradejphaisan, an Information Specialist, was recognized for initiating projects for the public good.
M (Management by Fact): Akrima Soommart, Head of Public Relations and Customer Relations, was honored for her use of data and facts to improve work processes.
A (Achieving Customer Excellence): Yotsayada Sitthiwong, Head of the Reference and Innovation Information Unit, received the award for providing outstanding and attentive service.
R (Responsibility & Good Governance): Mukda Duangphim, Head of the Information Management and Archives Unit, was commended for her strong sense of responsibility, transparency, and adherence to regulations.
T (Technology & Innovation Focus): Teerayut Balachon, an Information Specialist, was awarded for his skill in applying new technologies to enhance efficiency.
The celebration also included team-building activities, such as a communal lunch to strengthen relationships among staff.

In the afternoon, the library organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity under a “Green” theme. Staff members donated used clothing and other essential items to local organizations, including the Khon Kaen School for the Blind and the Foundation for Children’s Aid. The library extended its gratitude to all donors and gave special thanks to the university’s Faculty of Architecture and the Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations for providing a truck to transport the donated goods.
