The Khon Kaen University Library invites the public to explore the intricate craftsmanship and heritage of the northeast at “The Wisdom of Threads: Isan Textile Marvels.” This exhibition showcases local textiles and unique patterns from 20 provinces across Isan through a cutting-edge “Phygital” learning experience, running from May 14 to June 14, 2026, at the Lobby of Building 1, Khon Kaen University Library.

This initiative aims to promote the cultural value and wisdom of Northeastern local weaving, narrating the identity and lifestyle embedded in Isan textile patterns. By organizing this event, the library fulfills its mission as a center for lifelong learning for all generations , fostering a learning society and enhancing the quality of life through educational programs.
A key highlight is the Phygital presentation, seamlessly blending physical exhibits with digital platforms such as Metaverse, Podcasts, E-books, and Archival Timelines. This modern approach ensures information is inclusive and accessible to everyone. Visitors can also dive deep into the “5 Learning Zones” featuring Praewa, Yok, Mudmee, Khit, and Sa Ket silk, alongside inspiring stories of National Artists in visual arts (weaving) who have preserved these ancient arts for future generations.
The exhibition is open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Admission is free.
