Khon Kaen University Library Advances Sustainability Goals with Staff Training

KHON KAEN – More than 28 staff and management members from the Khon Kaen University Library participated in a two-day online workshop on February 26-27, 2026, aimed at integrating “Green Library and Green Office” principles into their operations.

The training, conducted via Zoom, is part of the library’s strategic effort to enhance staff capabilities and align with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event was opened by Dr. Aree Thanyakijjanukit, President of the Green Library Club. The first day focused on resource and environmental management, led by Ms. Ngamnid Anusassanee, an environmental expert from the Department of Climate Change and Environment. Sessions covered the importance of green offices, efficient energy and resource use, waste and pollution management, environmentally friendly procurement, and understanding greenhouse gases.

The second day of the workshop centered on green library management. The session featured insights and experiences from Mrs. Arisara Singpan, Director of the Maejo University Library, and Mrs. Daonapa Suyanon, Director of the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media at Mae Fah Luang University. They discussed strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, providing high-quality, eco-friendly services, and managing information resources related to environmental sustainability.

This training marks a significant step for the Khon Kaen University Library in its commitment to achieving organizational excellence in sustainability by equipping its personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills.
