Mahasarakham University Interns Showcase Innovative Library and AI Projects

Three Information Science students from Mahasarakham University presented the results of their professional internships during an online forum on March 25. The event, organized by the university’s Professional Experience Training School Committee, highlighted projects ranging from website development to the application of Agentic AI in document management.

The presentation served as the culmination of the students’ practical training within the university’s library system. Under the guidance of their mentors, the interns developed projects based on real-world challenges and opportunities observed during their placements.

The projects presented were:

Ms. Cattareeya Noithong, who interned at the Faculty of Dentistry library, proposed a project titled “Development of the Faculty of Dentistry Library Website, Khon Kaen University,” focusing on modernizing and improving the efficiency of the website’s interface.

Ms. Pimyada Nantawong, an intern at the central library, introduced her project on “Administrative and Executive Document Management with Agentic AI.” Her work explored the use of artificial intelligence to create a more systematic and efficient document management system within an organization.

Ms. Apinya Imsathian, based at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine library, presented an “Analysis of the Alignment of Information Resources with the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at Khon Kaen University.” Her project evaluated how well the library’s current resources support the curriculum’s academic requirements.

The session was led by Mrs. Yupaporn Thongnoi, Assistant Director for Strategy and Information Resource Management. Committee members engaged with the students, offering constructive feedback on their work. The event also provided a platform for the students to share their experiences and provide recommendations for enhancing the university’s professional internship program. The committee will use the insights gained to further refine and improve the program’s operations.
