Book suggestion

About service:

This service allows users to participate in the acquisition of information resources, specifically books, by recommending books they need for their studies, teaching, research, or recreational activities at the library. The recommendations are aligned with the users’ needs and within the budget allocated for each fiscal year.

 

Service eligibility:

Students, faculty members, researchers, and staff of Khon Kaen University who are currently enrolled or employed but have not yet graduated or are in regular employment status.

How to use the service: 

Recommendations can be made through the following 3 channels:

Please be informed:

–  The One Search channel allows recommendations for electronic books (eBooks) only.

– If you want to recommend more than one item at a time, click on the Google Form tab.

 

Guidelines for Book Recommendations:

  •  
  • Books in English: Books/Textbooks published within the last 5 years (2020-2024)
  • Books in Thai: Books/Textbooks published within the last 5 years (2018-2024).
  • If older publications are necessary, please include a reason.
  • Should be applicable to the department’s area of study and curriculum.
  • The book should not duplicate existing titles.

Operations:

Books in English (waiting for the physical copies for 90 days):
Members are welcome to submit suggestions at any time during the year.
The purchasing rounds will be divided into 3 cycles, as follows:

  • Orders placed in December of this year (submit titles by the end of November of this year) – Physical copies are expected around March of next year
  • Orders placed in March (submit titles by the end of February) – Physical copies are expected around June
  • Orders placed in May (submit titles by the end of April) – Physical copies are expected around August

*Any titles submitted after these dates will be moved to the next fiscal year

Books in Thai (waiting for the physical copies for 30 days):
Members are welcome to submit suggestions at any time during the year.
The purchasing rounds will be divided into 4 cycles, as follows:

  • Orders placed in December of this year (submit titles by the end of November of this year) – Physical copies are expected around January 2025 of next year
  • Orders placed in March (submit titles by the end of February) – Physical copies are expected around April
  • Orders placed in May (submit titles by the end of April) – Physical copies are expected around June
  • Orders placed in July (submit titles by the end of June) – Physical copies are expected around August

*Any titles submitted after these dates will be moved to the next fiscal year

Note:   The recommendation is only a gathering of titles for the library administration’s consideration in the purchasing process, following procurement regulations
