Mr. Wanchat Bhumee, Assistant Director for Services, Physical Resources, and Innovation at Khon Kaen University Library, attended the 38th Academic Library Cooperation Seminar held from July 9–10, 2026. The seminar, themed “Sustainable Futures: Academic Libraries Driving SDGs through Open Access and Digital Preservation,” took place at the Prof. Dr. Saroj Buasri Innovation Building and the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building (Central Library) at Srinakharinwirot University, Prasarnmit, Bangkok.
Jointly organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Srinakharinwirot University, the annual event serves as a premier national platform for academic exchange. It aims to showcase advancements in library and information science while fostering stronger ties and capabilities among academic library networks nationwide.
The seminar heavily emphasized how university libraries can actively propel the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting open knowledge access and robust digital preservation strategies. This initiative closely aligns with Khon Kaen University Library’s core mission to serve as a “Learning Center for All” and to act as an educational partner supporting global research excellence. Participation in this seminar underscores KKU Library’s ongoing commitment to integrating global sustainability practices into its physical spaces, technological innovations, and user services.
