Khon Kaen University Library Empowers Loei Provincial Financial Office with AI for Modern Economic Reporting

In a move to modernize regional economic reporting, the Library of Khon Kaen University (KKU) has dispatched digital experts to train provincial officials in Loei on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance data collection, management, and economic forecasting.

On Friday, June 5, 2026, representatives from the KKU Library participated as guest speakers and workshop facilitators at the Loei Palace Hotel in Mueang Loei District. The training program, titled “Enhancing the Efficiency of the Loei Provincial Economic Report for Fiscal Year 2026,” was organized by the Loei Provincial Financial Office. The initiative aimed to upgrade the skills of public and private sector personnel responsible for supporting and compiling provincial economic data, ensuring higher accuracy and reliability.

During the seminar, KKU Library’s digital specialists introduced cutting-edge technology to the participants. Dr. Prasit Prathumrat, Head of the Digital Technology and Audiovisual Unit, delivered a lecture on “Concepts, Principles, and the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Searching, Gathering, and Managing Provincial Economic Data.” The session focused on how AI tools can significantly reduce processing time and improve precision when managing large datasets.

Following the lecture, Dr. Prasit, alongside Mr. Panuwat Uthaiban, a Senior Information Specialist, led a hands-on workshop. The practical session, “Demonstration and Trial of AI Tools for Provincial Economic Operations,” allowed participants to work in groups and gain direct experience applying AI technologies to their daily tasks.

This collaborative effort aligns with the KKU Library’s mission to serve as a digital knowledge hub, extending its expertise beyond the university campus to support regional government agencies and drive sustainable economic and social development in the digital era.
